Our Story
Ian’s grandfather restored a 1929 Ford Model A Sport Coupe and his uncle restores all kinds of vehicles ranging from Ford's to Mercedes Benz's. So you can honestly say it's in his blood. He picked up his first bus in 2018, a 1971 Transporter with hopes of restoring it and hitting the beach with his friends. This project started a journey and love for restoring these rides. Armed with an internet connection, the goodwill of friends and VW enthusiast neighbors, and sheer force of will, he has completed a couple of awesome restorations and is currently restoring a 1970 Karmann Ghia for a good friend of his.
Along his journey, he came into contact with Jack and Dylan, who both shared a love of working on old vehicles and other rad things. They love working on these vehicles as much as they love seeing the joy that they bring to everyone, seeing them on the road, and driving in them alike.

“It’s been awesome to share the feeling of being in these vehicles and cruising the San Diego coastline with very cool people.” - Ian
Jack Cunniff
Jack, has been driving his 1969 VW bus since he was in high school. Working on these vehicles and his passion for them runs in his blood, as his pops is still working as a master Volkswagen mechanic in Santa Cruz, CA.
“MY dad was a specialty German car technician growing up, and I’ve learned all I could from him over the years. He inspired me to keep vintage classic cars alive and well, particularly Volkswagen buses. At Kombis, Kooks, N’ Things, I have had the good fortune of being able to turn my passion into helping others with keeping their cars and dreams alive, as well as my own.” - Jack

Dylan Burton
Dylan, also a San Diego native, has been working on all kinds of vehicles since he was a slightly smaller lad. (He was 6’1” at 16 years old we think). You’re bound to run into this dude if you’re doing anything fun in san diego, as he’s either out in the water surfing, spinning records at some cool venues, or driving a vintage car around town.
“I basically grew up in the 70’s and I love all things yesteryear.” - Dylan
